Time to celebrate our maritime history!

The Maritime Ipswich Festival runs from Saturday 15th until Sunday 16th August on the Ipswich Waterfront with some activities starting on the later part of Friday 14th. Key activities are Re-enactments, Historic Vessels, Funfair, Street & Food Markets, and the ‘Pilots Mess Pub’ together with a music stage on board a barge.

Since the event was reintroduced in 2010 the festival has gone from strength to strength attracting in excess of 70,000 visitors and is organised by Ipswich Borough Council working in partnership with local businesses, ABP, UCS, Ipswich Maritime Trust, Ipswich Waterfront Action, the Old Gaffers Association and Ipswich Central.

The Maritime Festival is located throughout the waterfront and includes the Island site, along the northern and eastern quays (with event control based in Aquarium located on the top floor of the Eastern Enterprise Hub in the James Hehir Building). The Waterside activity runs on Saturday and Sunday between 10am-10pm.
