In business one way to keep ahead of your competition is to constantly innovate. Delivery of the European Regional Development funded ‘Ready, Set, Go’ innovation programme started in June this year and our Business Advisers are keen to talk to both innovative start-ups and established businesses who may be looking for support or a grant.
Innovation is a term that conjures up images of inspirational entrepreneurs and high tech businesses, but it’s something that all businesses should be constantly looking at. The NWES scheme supports all types of businesses, provided they are looking to introduce a new product or process. Recent research has shown that 43% of all businesses are innovating in at least some small way.
The “Ready, Set, Go” programme is designed to accelerate innovation. Our dedicated business advisers not only provide general support on growth and start-up issues, but also in depth innovation planning covering subjects as diverse as Intellectual Property rights to environmental enhancements.
Once a business plan has been produced companies are able to apply for a grant of 25% of eligible costs, up to £25,000, to enable them to implement their new product or service. This can include marketing for the new product or process so the cost of a new website, for example, could be supported. The programme is designed to be flexible and is available across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
With support from the Ready, Set, Go programme there is every reason to look at how you can change your current product or service and innovate for success. Stand still and your competition will overtake you!
