Hauntingly beautiful…

Triple Bill as performed by the amazingly talented members of Ballet Black was a thoroughly enchanting experience all round.

Composed of three stunning and diverse numbers, each succeeded in capturing the attention ad awe of the audience. With minimal use of props throughout the audience remained primarily fixated on the dancers and their undeniable talent, skill and charm.

Ballet Black aims to ‘provide role models to young, aspiring black and Asian dancers’ and without a doubt succeeds in doing this. Ballet Black is so visually captivating with its undoubted foundings in classic ballet yet its adoption of other cultural influence, elements of old and new are utilised in tandem creating innovative new forms and concepts.

Ballet Black encapsulates the beauty of ballet whilst also calling into question long held issues within the world of classical ballet.
