The New Wolsey Theatre is feeling forever young; especially thanks to their new partnership with the online Ipswich toy shop Up To The Moon.
Up To The Moon are now sponsoring the huge variety of children’s shows that the New Wolsey Theatre programmes. The online shop at uptothemoon.com sells a fun-filled selection of wooden toys and traditional gifts, arts and crafts kits and outdoor fun that will entertain the younger ones on your family – if the adults give them a chance to!
Up To The Moon is owned and run by Emma, James, Chris and Adrian, who all have children. Every toy on the site has been handpicked by them - and tried and tested by the little ones in their lives. Based at the studios of creative agency Condiment, Up To The Moon can: kit out your party with pirates, princesses and astronauts themed goodies; get you creating your own elephant, robot or car; and open your imagination to creating your own piece of children’s theatre with their Robin Hood hand puppet box set.
Emma Knight from Up To The Moon says: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the children’s shows at the New Wolsey Theatre. Everyone at Up To The Moon has small children, and they’ve all been inspired by the fantastic performances that the New Wolsey Theatre keeps bringing to Ipswich. We wanted to show our appreciation, and sponsorship is a great way to do that – with the added benefit of promoting of our little toy shop at the same time.”
Here is a selection of shows that Up To The Moon will be sponsoring this year:
The New Wolsey will be presenting its very own children’s show with When I Grow Up? Charlie (who’s a boy) feels like he has to make decisions all the time, and Charlie (who’s a girl) loves making decisions so much, she enjoys making them for everyone around her! Designed for children in years 5 and 6, the show will embark on a schools tour this Spring with your chance to see it on Saturday 8 March.
This Easter, the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk gets a retelling that’s full of beans! Expect enormous shoes, tiny houses, showers of silver and gold, and a big leafy explosion. All this can be found at the New Wolsey Studio from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 April.
On Saturday 10 May, take part in the fun and learn how to make your very own poems that glow in The PoetryJoe Show. Join PoetryJoe, star of CBeebie’s Rhyme Rocket, performer, writer and – of course! – poet, in his light up, pop up world of fabulous foods, beasty bugs and peculiar pets.
As always with a season of children and family shows, the Storymaker will be making a visit with shows for those younger and older. If you love silly stories and tremendous tales, amazing adventures and exciting escapades, then you should definitely meet the Storymaker! You can choose to pay between £1 and £5 for your little or big ones. Dates coming up include Saturday 15 February, Saturday 1 March, Saturday 15 March, Saturday 29 March and plenty during the Easter holidays.
