Christchurch Park is a 70-acre (280,000 m2) area of rolling lawns, wooded areas, and delicately created arboreta in central Ipswich, Suffolk, England. The park opened as the town's first public park in 1895. It contains Christchurch Mansion which is a public museum that holds a good range of artifacts and an essential place to visit for those that want to know more about Ipswich's historic past. Of special interest is the art gallery which includes the largest collection of works by Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable outside of London. The park has a well kept activity play area for children with good equipment and is gated for parents peace of mind. There are also tennis courts for hire and a bowling green. The park is also host to the Ipswich Park run that takes places every Sat at 9am. the run is a dual circuit of 2.5K which is marked.
