A major new exhibition of work depicting the coastline and rivers of Suffolk is now on at the Ipswich Art School Gallery this summer.

Tidal Margins 3 is the culmination of three years’ work by artists, photographers and writers who share a passion for the coast and its tidal estuaries,” said exhibition organiser, artist Jennifer Hall. “The show will take you on a journey from Shingle Street to Southwold, and from Lowestoft to Felixstowe. We have been out in all weathers and at all times of the year. Being so close to the landscape gives the work energy and vibrancy, and a tangible sense of place. I hope visitors will feel as inspired to explore the Suffolk coast as we have.”

The show is complemented by Ipswich Museum’s remarkable bird and geology collections, which connect directly with work in the exhibition.

Tidal Margins 3 runs until 7th September at the Ipswich Art School Gallery in High Street.

During the exhibition, Tidal Margins writers and artists are offering an inspiring series of art and writing workshops for children and adults. Many of the workshops are offered as free drop-in sessions and are sponsored by Touching the Tide , a Heritage-Lottery-funded landscape project. For details visit www.cimuseums.org.uk
